The East Valley Hearing Center has successfully cared for thousands of hearing impaired patients from all walks of life. Through continuing hearing health education, our highly-trained staff specializes in fitting traditional as well as the most advanced hearing aid instruments available today. We remain on the leading edge of hearing aid, diagnostic and treatment technology in order to better serve you, our patients.
Robert J. Scharber
Au.D., FAAA
Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Scharber received his Doctorate of Audiology in 2001 from the University of Florida. He also earned his bachelor's degree at College of New Jersey in Trenton and his master's degree in Audiology from Arizona State University in Tempe. He has been practicing audiology in Arizona for more than thirty years. As a Board Certified Doctor of Audiology, he works closely with ear, nose and throat doctors, internists, and family physicians as a consultant providing evaluations and hearing services to their patients. He often serves as a consultant to healthcare organizations and insurance plans as well. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists, and is licensed by the Arizona State Department of Health Services. He currently is chairman of the Hearing and Speech Professionals Licensing Advisory Committee. Dr. Scharber grew up near Asbury Park, New Jersey.
Dr. Scharber is available as a speaker on a number of topics. He offers a multimedia presentation on Hearing Loss, New Hearing Instrument Technologies, Balance, Dizziness & Fall Prevention, Assistive Listening Devices and Listening Strategies. Melanie L. Moore
Au.D., FAAA
Doctor of Audiology
Melanie received her Doctorate of Audiology in 2008 from AT Still University. She also earned her Masters of Science degree in Audiology and a Bachelors of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, both from the University of Arizona. She has a Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology from the American Speech/Language & Hearing Association. She is originally from New Jersey but she was raised in Mesa. Melanie really enjoys working with our senior citizen patients. Her friendly personality and genuine concern about your hearing health make her a favorite among our patients.
Rene Scharber
Rene' Scharber has her Bachelor of Science degree in deaf education and is a sign language interpreter. She often uses her signing skills to interpret for our patients during the week and with a deaf ministry on the weekends. She brings the accounting skills she learned at her grandmother's side to this family business. She helps with insurance, accounting and the network administration for the computers in the office. She and Dr. Scharber have 3 kids and 2 grandchildren.
